Oh, yes, be forewarned with "Berserk" the anime - 
it does not end, but merely stops in mid-story. 
There is currently 24 volumes of the manga, and 
it is still be written (so there's still no 
definite end to the story yet). The anime only 
makes it up to about volume 13 or so of the 
manga, so there is MUCH more to the story left 
undone. The series even left out some of the more 
important characters to the storyline, especially 
revolving around those of the God Hand; and after 
where the anime left off, there's a whole new 
slew of characters introduced, and a whole new 
plot twist.

"Quest to defeat the new king"? That doesn't even 
begin to scratch the surface of the overall 
story, and what becomes of the main characters!!

Let me just say in lieu of giving away too many 
spoilers, "Berserk" gets *incredibly* MESSED UP.
