If I knew beforehand, definately not.
If it was a cel I already had, then I would try
to work something out with the person it was
stolen from. I would probably either return it
or "rebuy" it depending on how attached the
parties were to the image.
I remember that less that a year ago I kept a cel
sent to me from a deputy because I thought it was
a freebie. I felt so awful when I found out it
belonged to someone else and returned it right
away. Any enjoyment I would get from a cel would
be ruined if I knew it really belonged to someone
else (collector, dealler or studio).
I've had enough things stolen/defrauded from me
(my car, cash, watch, professional
equipment/services, and even a cel payment/cel)
that I would totally understand the anger of the
victim. Simply saying that the victim should have
had better security or been more attentive just
doesn't cut it. A determined thief can steal from
anyone. |
