Apparently this room for registered mail isn't 
usually accessable to most of the employees at 
the post office. Once I had a slip for a 
registered package (Yann's packages are always 
classified as "registered") and actually couldn't 
pick it up when I went in for it because only the 
postmaster had the key to that room - and he was 
out on lunch break. Thus I call ahead to pick up 
registered mail. So even if the people searched 
for you "everywhere", they might not have been 
able to try there, even if they'd thought about 
it!
