Not all series are paint by numbers, and some of 
them are bloody works of art. X comes to mind. 
Also, not all anime series are run on an assembly 
line. 80,000 0f the 140,000+ cels used to make 
Mononoke Hime were drawn by one man. For the most 
part you are right, but in some way you have to 
appreciate what artists these people are. While I 
love fancels, I have yet to see one that truly 
captured the spirit of the show it was drawn for, 
no matter how exquisitely they were drawn.
