Most people believe that just because a signature
enhances the value of other artifacts(ie Comic
Books, Sports Cards, Movie Posters) that the same
goes for animation cels. What gets me the most is
the poeple who will go to great lengths to get a
cel of(for example) Donald Duck from the 1930's,
and then have someone(say Carl Barks) sign it!
Why not sign an acid free piece of paper and mat
that in with the cel? The VALUE of a cel in in
it's inherent beauty, and once you've taken a
black pen to that beauty you've decreased the
value in my estimation. Let's all remember that
these are one-of-a-kind artifacts, so they don't
need to be any more rare than that. |
