Eh ??
Not really. The Japanese government is does
not charge taxes on outgoing packages. If they
did I would not do this.
They don't care whether we send it for 1 yen or
for the true amount
Whether the customer wants to insure it or
not is *there* choice. With EMS you are lucky
as amount you the insure it for is the amount
it gets declare as.
As we never include a sales receipt in the
package and never will (BTW you can get a
printable receipt online with the new system).
On the customers side it probably is illegal.
But come on what at the chances of some
custom officer opening the package seeing
a "Neko bus cel from Totoro" and saying
No way M-A-N this Neko bus is WORTH
ten of thousands not 1000 yen like the
package
says. Now the key word here is WORTH !!
WORTH does not matter what it COSTS does,
and if the customer does not want insure the
package there is no place to write what the
cels cost. [bummer]
Now if the cels cost 1000 yen and I insured
them for 100,000 yen and the package got
destroyed and I *tried* to claim insurance
we could get busted - there for this is
something we cannot do.
thanks
Stephen
