I have found wallets before. Never, mind you,
with $200 in them. Usually around $50. If there
is any, and I mean any, way to return it to the
seller then I would do so. If not, $50 goes to
the Brian Lowery college fund. How do you know
the guy was a traveling businessman. He could be
some poor schmo like my cousin from Australia
visiting his folks in the states. Maybe you just
took his only cash so he could take the train to
his parents house or something. Either way, you
are stealing. Possession is 9/10 of the law only
when there isn't an ID on the damn thing you are
trying to possess. If you need to pay an electric
bill or something, I could see your point. But to
just blow it on a cel is childish. If Mr.
Insurance Man was coming to take my car away and
I found $200 in wallet, I wouldn't be as picky
about this. But to just use it to buy a cel,
c'mon. You can rationalize all you want, but
someday you are going to lose a rent payment or
car payment and then see how much praying you do
in the hopes of getting it back. Or maybe you'll
rest easy knowing the thieving bastard has bought
himself a stack of porn or some X-Men comics with
it.
