I was just getting ready to reply, but now that 
you did, aethel, I can definitely see that.
Last night I was outbid on an item that I really 
figured was unpopular (so I bid early). The person 
that outbid me was a 0 feedback bidder. Now that 
you've said that, I realize why I didn't bother to 
play "bid fight" with the bidder- you sort of 
figure 0 feedback bidders are new and don't have 
good sense, and will pay *way* too much for an 
item, well beyond what it's worth. I think most 
all of us were guilty of that kind of 
"overenthusiasm" when we first got to ebay. It 
takes a few "lessons" in overpaying before you 
get it. I can think of 3 or 4 things I paid way 
too much on basically because I didn't have the 
sense to stop the bidwar and just wait for another 
one to show up. (non-cel items) That sort of thing 
may very well be what the bidder was fearing would 
happen.
