Problem w/ some on this board (Sat Mar 10 06:18:27 2001 )

I've often noticed in the last few months that
I've been reading messages on this board that
criticism is often not weel stated, and even more
often, not well recieved. Let me first say that
I have absolutely no issue with the way you
choose to do business (regardless of what some
may like to think after my recent comment). If
you want to take offers on cels without a price
range, that's your prerogative. However, here
are my issues with the previous case:
- When you announce that something is for sale,
you have a responsibility to do one of the
following:
    a) provide the price range you expect to sell
the item for
                 or
    b) respond to every offer (almost
irregardless of amount)

Now, if you have not announced that certain
pieces are for sale, the issue is entirely
different. In that case, it is up to the seller
to entice you. On that issue, I cannot disagree
with you. But back to the case at hand.

The simple fact is that not all potential buyers
know/ understand the "market value" of a given
cel. DBZ is immensely popular with children
(much to my chagrin), so many of the offers you
recieve may not be fully informed. If you choose
not to specify the kind of price you expect ON
ITEMS YOU HAVE LISTED FOR SALE, then it is simply
a matter of respect to respond to all offers (not
ones from people with which you have had past
negative dealings, of course). Understand, that
this is not an attack, no matter how some of the
less literate readers on this forum may feel, it
is a criticism.

I have no doubt that you are an honest seller,
and no one has accused you of being such. The
fact remains that some people may find it
objectionable when what they feel is a fair offer
(whether it is or not is irrelevent) goes
unanswered.

Please understand that this criticism is leveled
solely at the items you ANNOUNCE for sale,
nothing more. If you have the time
to "give . . . a range",

then you should have the time to post that range
with the item in question or respond to every
email. I sincerely believe that this entire
discussion could have been avoided by simply
posting a price range you deem acceptable. That
way the vast majority of those who would offer
unreasonable sums would not and those to whom you
do not respond would have a reason. Simples as
that. Thank you.
