Okay, okay... am starting to lose my
train of thought here (this is what happens when
you feel like being argumentative after 2 days of
no sleep :P) so will try to keep this second part
short...
Any dealer who abuses this forum's ability to
endorse the freedom of remaining anonymous in
order to harm another buyer's reputation
(or another dealer's in my mind) ESPECIALLY
if they have never dealt with that person
seems deplorable. However, what's to prevent them
from using another handle to do the same thing?
It is up to the reader to discriminate between
valid posts and flames...
However, I suppose I am just too much of a
patriot who grips tooth and nail to everyone's
right to choose... the right to choose to read,
not to read, to post with a name, or to remain
anonymous, and the right to decide what will or
will not change his or her mind...
I think sometimes very valid points are brought
up in anonymous posts. If a point is brought
to light that warns me of activity that I find
repulsive (such as if a person is knowingly
selling fake cels or something) then I will
simply be grateful for the imformation and will
be more than happy to DO SOME RESEARCH and look
into the matter to make an educated decision...
No one should ever take any information,
especially anything as easily manipulated as
digital information, at face value without
looking deeper.
And not all anonymous posts are bad. =)
I personally would feel a bit threatened if I were
forced to put my name to every single thing
I typed... I would have to double-guess every
single opinion I was about to express to make
sure it sounded politically correct and was in
no way responsible for stepping on toes... that's
just the way I am, and perhaps I am not the only
one who would like the freedom to say what I want
(within a set of civil rules, of course)
without having to try to water everything down to
"play nice" all the time?
Darnit, I meant to keep this short. =)
Play nice!
