*grins* The site is http://www.your-site.com/.
They offer 50 mb (hmm..well, it SEEMED like a lot
a year ago when I signed up ^_^;;); 6 gigs monthly
transfer limit (this is the bandwidth limit I was
talking about. As far as I can remember, there's
no limit on YOU uploading, just other people
downloading); 25 pop email accounts (I should
really use it one of these days); and CGI and SSI
Application Support (I have a cgi-bin). I was
wrong, the yearly domain fee is $20, not $10, so
the total is $80 yearly ($60 for the hosting, $20
for the name).
When I signed up the domain name was free the
first year, because they were a registrar, and it
was MUCH better than going through network
solutions. Of course, no ads, and you have Telnet
and FTP access. I really need to talk to them
about my .htaccess file, because I can't find it
in my directory for the life of me. On the 6 gig
limit: to give you some idea, my highest month was
August, and I used 1,013,767 KB. If I'm doing my
math right, that's around 1 gig? No video files,
though.
They are very good with customer support. As I
recall, I was given a cusomer number when I
emailed, and the replies were quick. Mind, that
was about five months ago ^_^;;. Anyway, if
you're interested I suggest you check out all
their page has to offer, because it's possible
other things have changed since I signed up.
They're VERY good about emailing everybody when
the server goes down (they've had technical
problems about three times in my dealings with
them). At one point the pages went down briefly,
and they offered anybody who emailed them a free
month for the hassle. They guarantee 99.9%
uptime.
