Interesting comments Tri. I don't think you
should worry about anyone trying to storm your
castle walls, just yet. :)
I just wanted to talk about slabbing cels.
Judging something by grades -- ie, A level cel,
which is both eyes opened, and a great head shot -
- might be too subjective. What will the
deductions be? What should take preference?
Should a face forward cel be judged higher than a
three quatre profile? With comics, you're simply
looking at the condition, ie bent corners, folds,
or colour of the paper. There are also guides and
even colour wheels you can use to judge the
quality of the product.
Anyway, I don't think people would be willing to
pay more for a slabbed cel as opposed to an
unslabbed cel from the same sequence, as they are
with comic books.
Personally, I don't like CGC -- or graded and
slabbed comics -- because it gives the illusion
that something is more valuable then it really
is. A mint comic is a mint comic. CGC only makes
sense if you can't see the book yourself, but at
the sametime you shouldn't be paying more then
the Overstreet value on it. |
