sort of. not sure if you intended your poses as
an attack, but if you'd put yourself in my shoes
you would realize they certainly came across that
way.
but the issue of permission *again*. [bangs her
head against the wall] how many times must i
reiterate that the 'permission' you're referring
to isn't even valid? of course i don't have the
winning bidder's permission, any more than i
would have gotten CLAMP's permission to make the
cel had i done it from a screen-cap! but at
least in that case the permission *is* CLAMP's
to give!!!
what comes next? demanding people remove screen
caps from galleries if someone has one featuring
your beloved cel? it's 'mine', don't copy it.
it's 'mine', take it down from your shameless
public display of what i paid good money for?
don't be rediculous! if anyone has the right to
make such requests, it is the copyright holders
of the image in question.
okay, try this comparison. you've just purchased
for a hefty sum an original manuscript by Stephen
King (congrats ~_^) does that make you the
copyright holder of the material? Stephen King
would definitely argue 'no'. does that give you
the right to demand permission of people quoting
from, disseminating, publishing, spoofing, fan-
ficcing or otherwise copying the material? of
course not.
if you can tell me how cel collecting is any
different from that example, i'd love to hear it.
as for your assumptions regarding my employment
status and monetary well-being, well... you know
what they say about assumptions. goes for my
collection as well, though i fail to see how that
even plays into the discussion.
*and* i appreciate that *since* you deem my
collection inferior (you have seen it, yes?) that
*that* is the reason i don't mind if my cels are
copied??? the value (and if i understand
correctly you mean cash here) of a cel dictates
how high we, as collectors, hold it in esteem? i
for one find that assessment to be quite off.
some of my most dear and favorite cels came quite
cheaply compared to others in the herd, and i've
seen many a collector over-pay for cels.
as for copying, i believe i addressed that issue
to *death* in an earlier post. go back and try
reading it again. i do agree about original fan
cels, don't get me wrong. only, some of us just
need a little practice to get us there...

if a fan cel is made and never posted to this
forum, would anyone care?
