Hi Drac! My ying and your yang again. But
seriously...
If someone maintained a "cel graveyard" where
they even gave the appearance that they still
owned the cel and had not sold it, then I think I
would be offended.
However, as long as the cels are marked as "no
longer owned", I really LIKE "cel graveyards"
showing cels that I and others have bought from
other people.
The reason why is that, by comtemplating the
whole picture, of what someone has bought, and
what they sold, and by contrasting it to what's
left in their collection, you can really get a
feel for who they are, how they collect, how they
value cels, how they make distinctions between
cels. Sometimes, you can see how their life is
evolving and how they are maturing as they cast
off things that they once thought were worth
competing for, and now have sold off.
I, at least, find that by contemplating other
people's "cel graveyards", I grow wiser as I look
at how they have evolved and changed their minds,
and as I contrast it to the snapshot of where
they are today.
I get a GREAT deal of value from comparing my own
thinking and development to that which is
implicit in the the record of other people's cel
graveyards.
So, I like "cel graveyards" quite a bit, even if
they showcase my best stuff.
