I'd like to hear people's opinions on the
following situation:
You buy a cel online and find that the cel was
displayed misaligned, with no notation of that.
When you get the cel, you find that said cel is
three layers and the top two (the second layer of
which is a mouth-only layer) are stuck. The cel
can be put back into the position it was in on
the site, but not without a stray mouth floating
in midair. A stray mouth that does *not* appear
on the seller's scan. (Anywhere. Not even aligned
where it should be.)
I've received cels and found they were displayed
on a seller's site misaligned without noting that
fact -- which I don't agree with -- but in the
past, they were always *unstuck*. I could align
it however I pleased for my own viewing purpose,
so it really didn't matter too much. But as I
look at the seller's scan, I'm increasingly
convinced the cel was not only intentionally
misaligned, but that the scan was "cleaned up" to
remove the floating mouth. If the mouth were on
the seller's scan correctly aligned, I would
merely assume the layers had become stuck in
transit. . . But it's complete absence is making
me suspicious of a bit of "false advertising".
I have not brought this to the attention of the
person who sold me the cel. . . I wanted to hear
what everyone else thought first. . . I will say
this 100% IS NOT a situation I would expect from
this seller.
