I've done things like that with positive results 
before too. . . Both ways, actually! Once I was 
the high bidder on a lot but I only wanted one 
cel from it -- so I wrote the second bidder and 
asked them if they wanted any of the others. They 
were happy I'd wrote! They got two of the cels 
they'd wanted, I got mine for a LOT less. ^_^

When I get a *nice* e-mail like that, I try to 
never ignore it, even if I'm not interested in a 
post-auction sale, since I know I do that too. ^_^
