OK, now I am getting irritated. The first time
this happened, I didn't say anything since I
assume they didn't know, but ANOTHER person (or
the same one who knows???) just copied my cel
again and is selling it on Ebay. After the
previous discussion about this (referring to the
copyright issue discussion), I went and asked
someone who works for a production company and is
one of the cel artists there (was at Ushicon
yesterday). I asked him about the legality of fan
cels and he told me that to sell a replica of an
original cel for profit is "wrong" (dare I say
that word "ILLEGAL"). He said that cel
commissions are okay so long as the cels are not
made for the purpose of resale.
Now, I contacted Ebay about this since it is
obviously Copyright Infringement to the original
owners and they have not done anything yet except
give me the same automated response.
Is there anything I can do about it? Should I
keep on contacting Ebay or is this how they
respond to issues like this one?
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DON'T GET INTO THAT
DISCUSSION ABOUT COPYRIGHTS, ETC. All I want to
know is how does Ebay handle these things and what
can I do to stop this? Thanks for your help.
