As someone who collects primarily Inu Yasha ( and
someone who did long before it ever came to CN )
I completely agree with your post. There's the
good and bad to it- before CN started airing Inu
Yasha, there weren't that many dealers carrying
cels, and the cels that were available weren't
that great. So the influx in quality cels is
staggering and very very nice for us seasoned
collectors. However, Inu Yasha cels prices go
BOOM. It's funny because wonderful Inu Yasha
cels I was STUPID enough to pass up on Y!JP up to
a few months ago that closed without any bidders,
are all of a sudden being relisted and the prices
they are selling for are crazy ( Arrghhh...WHY
did I pass some of them up back then??? ). So
now the frustrating part is having to duke it out
with all the rich Orange County 14 year olds and
their brothers ( no offense. I lived there for
awhile myself ^_^x ) for the cels. I saw what
Transformed Inu Yasha just recently sold for on Y!
JP and as gorgeous and rare as it was, a year or
so ago it wouldn't have sold for that much.

Ummm..I'm hoping the "trend" will die down soon.
I'm glad that Inu Yasha is being received so
positively, and that CN is doing it's part to
bring in more appreciative audiences, but darnit,
I want back in on the Inu Yasha cel action
without having to fight wallet to wallet with
hundreds of fans ^_^x. Oh well, the true fans
will stay on years later admiring their
collection, while the trend-followers will throw
them up on ebay later when the trend is over and
then I can buy them. Mwa haa ^_^x
