As a semi-retired collector myself, I haven't
been buying or selling recently despite what
appears IMO, a increase flux in attempted sales.
However, I do visit the boards when time permits
and I'd like to ask everyone about the current
state of cels, literally. My questions to
everyone are:

(1)People seem to be dumping more cels on auction
sites nowadays, but IMO, the hyped anime frenzy
seen in previous years does not even exist for
any series (new and old). The resell prices seem
relatively low and higher grade cels rarely
appear anymore if ever. Heck there is one place
(which shall not be named) that use to have some,
but, has failed to updated their site with
anything in the past five months!

So, for those of you who are selling a couple
cels and particularly those of you who seem to be
selling your ENTIRE collection (if you don't mind
sharing), why now?

(2)Now as we live in a time of war, IMO now more
than ever, it seems cels are truly luxery items.
Has the current socio-economic conditions in your
part of the world in any way, (a)affected the way
you purchase cels, AND (b)your outlook of cel
collecting as a whole? Why and why not.

(3)If more animes are produced with CG and the
use of traditional full cel animation is becoming
nonexistent, where do you see the future of cel
collecting in five years? How about ten years?

For those of you with children, do they notice
the difference between cel and CG animation? As a
cel parent, do you point out the differences to
them?

(4)Lastly, I've made friends with various
collectors over the years, but most decided to
quit for financial and emotional reasons.

For those of you who still actively collect, stop
to look around your friends. Does it seem there
are about the same amount of friends who started
with you in this hobby or are the considerably
less? For those that quit, do you know why? How
long have you been in this hobby and what keeps
you in it?

Thank you all for sharing and have a great day!
^_^;;
