My sister and I split the cost of a WebTV system 
in December 1996. So I obtained internet access 
through that. The main reason I wanted internet 
access in the first place was because I wanted to 
be able to request anime fansubs tapes through 
the mail. After I began to get those, my interest 
in anime took a leap up.

I think it when I started searching on the 
internet for all things anime related that I 
stumbled onto the "Anime Cels Ring" and "The 
Internet Guide to Anime Cels". I had already seen 
Anime Wink ads in magazines so I knew there must 
be some way to BUY anime cels. All the links I 
needed were on those two online guides.

I went through all forty five of those cel 
galleries. Then I began to check the ?dozen cel 
dealers webpages...uh...about five to seven times 
a week. Of course the cels I wanted the most 
(like Video Girl Ai cels) were all sold out by 
the time I got to those pages. After doing this 
unsuccessfully for about six weeks, I decided to 
buy the best cel that was still available. So I 
bought a cel of Ryoko holding Tenchi from 
Nichibei on April 11, 1997.

And...everything went downhill from there. :P

Thank God the good cels have disappeared (even 
from the obscure shows that I am now collecting) 
so that I can begin to relax and rebuild my 
savings from six years of financial devastation.
