Well, Cindy already posted about how I got her
into cels, (Oh sure, it's always easy blame the
big goofy guy)way back when. I'm curious how
everyone here got into collecting.

I got my first cels back in '86 or so, from a
nice old lady in Atlanta who ran a cel business
out of her home. I used to see her at various
mall antique shows and later at cons, selling all
sorts of American tv and movie cels. I think my
first was a pretty elf princess from the old
Bakshi movie Wizards. Followed that with a couple
of good animated Star Trek cels, and even some
from the old Animated Lord of the Rings.

Later when I got into anime, I discovered she
had a small handful she'd picked up, but didn't
know much about, so I was ale to pick them up
cheap. I think the Kei (from The Nolandia
Affair) below was probably my first anime cel.
Don't even remember what I paid for it
unfortunately. I think until the Maho Tsukai Tai
cel I posted in my intro, my most expensive cel
was a cute group shot of the girls w/ photocopied
background from The Chipmunk Adventure. ^-^;

Not sure what's happened to the nice cel lady
since. She's probably sadly passed away by now
since she was in her 60's back in '89 and smoked
like a chimney. :(
