I prefer to crop the cel paint "fringes" in my
scans. I don't crop simply to the image though..
which a few collectors do. (for example, having a
tiny image on a cel and then cropping it so the
image "appears" to take up a whole cel, or
becomes a "vertical pan".. etc). I just find the
clean edges more appealing for gallery
presentation. Even when I framed my cels I have
the matting covering the ragged paint edges.
I get to see them with ragged edges all the time
in my cel books, so I like to see them a little
different online :) Of course if ever the event
came up where a buyer wanted to see the edges, I
could always scan it again.
