Ahh, but just because there are auction 
extensions, does not mean I (and others) then 
bid with 6 days to go. :)  Unless its some 
unknown doujinshi auction in the depths of the 
adult section *cough cough* lol, where I can be 
safe from competition, I still bid at 6-10 
minutes before it ends, hoping that the high 
bidder is at work, asleep, busy, etc. and is not 
watching the end of the auction.

I also do this because I do not like to commit 
to something days in advance.  I'd hate to bid a 
bundle on a cel with 5 days to go, and then 
something I want a lot more shows up but I 
cannot afford it due to my obligation to the 
first auction.

Every way of bidding has flaws, of course.  I 
could lose an auction and wish I had bid on one 
that ended the day before instead.  But I accept 
that it can happen and much prefer leaving 
myself free of the early-bid-commitment.  :)
