I really dislike the auto-extensions because one
of my biggest pet peeves are auction nibblers.
The ones who will bid small increments until
they are on top... and will repeat the process
when someone else outbids them. It makes me
want to scream "BID YOUR MAX AND LEAVE IT
ALONE!" LOL. ^_^; I've seen auctions extended
for almost 30 more minutes due to nibble-wars!
Sitting around hoping someone doesn't extend the
auction you are winning is pretty frustrating.
I much prefer ebay's system and am very glad
they have said they have no plans on adding that
feature.
BTW - Auctions with no extensions are perfectly
fair to everyone. Everyone has the option of
bidding whatever they want up to the last second
of the auction. If a person is trying to get a
deal by not bidding what they are willing to pay
(I'm not really sure how that works; the outcome
would be the same if they would just bid their
max to begin with), then honestly, they really
don't have a right to complain about not having
the chance to bid more when they are sniped.
Snipers don't have some unfair advantage that
others cannot take part in. When placing a bid,
if you ask yourself "Will I bid again if someone
outbids me?" and the answer is yes, then you are
entering in the wrong bid amount. |
