Tonight I finally have an hour to scan a couple
cels. One is from Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust,
and (as usual for the movie) it's very dark. When
I scan it, my scanner decides: "WOW! Look at all
this great dust! I'll highlight that!" ~_~;;
Efforts to clean the scanner enough to get a good
scan were unsuccessful. So I airbrushed out the
dust. I never clean up scans and didn't like
doing it, because (other than a watermark) I like
to present my cels as they are, with no touch-ups.
I'm curious what others think about touching up
scans for a gallery. Do people commonly do it? Do
people think touched-up scans should be noted?
How do people think it effects offers made on, or
sales made from, a cel gallery -- that scans might
be touched up for display with no notation?
