For Ebay: Same strategy than starphoenix, but due
to having an slower connection i cannot wait to
the last 15 seconds but 30-40 seconds. Of course i
don't have time to place another bid.
For YJ without autoextension: Same as ebay.
For YJ with autoextension: Well, i could write an
entire essay about this because everything depends
on the kind of auction, the price range of the
item and the possible opposition that you may
have. For items that you can find several people
auctioning them i place a "high" early bid in the
auction that ends first, this is in order to try
to drive people attention to the other auctions.
But if the price is high you have to be very
careful placing high maximum bids because there
are many "masters" of raising prices on YJ (i
mean, people with the ability of raising the
item's price up to your maximum but without
beating you). And for those cels where you know
you have always the same people as opposition you
have to think of strategies like always placing
bids but choosing carefully when you are really
trying to win, this is done to try to confuse them
so they cannot know for sure if you really want
that item or not (if somehow they know for sure
that you want that item badly they will try to
make you pay as much as possible for it so you
don't have money left when other good items pop
up). All this may sound a little psycotic but
believe me, it's true, japanese people are like
this.... at least the ones that i ussually have as
opponents. |
