Good ideas all... She's so close to identical to
another cat down the street that I might well
check with them, too.
We have checked the pounds, with no luck. Ad in
the paper is underway.
Because she is a cat who freaked when the CD
drive opened (hilarious -- the "big tail"
treatment for a CD!) I find it hard to imagine
her actually wandering too far from the house.
She was just too timid. In all the years she
lived with us (12) my dad never actually saw her -
- she was "the theoretical cat" to him. That's
why we're pretty much resigned to the likelihood
that she is gone.
On the other hand, we're not giving up. I have
had my cries and beaten myself up over making it
possible for her to sneak out (even if it wasn't
me, I'm the "mom") Now I'm going to focus on
thinking about what an experience it's been
living with the quirky little dustball, and hope
that she either comes home safely or is happily
living with someone else :-)
(ok, so I lie. Brave words, but I'm going to be
heartbroken for awhile).
