Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the original
auction for a Gargoyles cel? I think a lot of the
animation work was parceled out to Japan, but
it's still an American show; ergo, it might be a
bit weird to use Japanese terms to describe
components of American animation art, even if
it's the term that most people in "our" circle
are familiar with.
But I suppose it might be like me calling up
Mattell and asking how I can get ahold of their
hanken monos. :o) "Hanken-whats?" But if I used
the American term for the art that goes on their
toy packaging, they might understand me better.
