...I guess I can see your comparison, but hankens
and repros are TOTALLY different.

Hankens are a LOT more valuable. They are the
cels which are created for merchandizing purposes
(where a certain type of 'production value' comes
in), and are often very beautiful and high
quality. There is only ONE. Often, repro cels are
based off of a hanken, and as such in a totally
different world. Depending on the repro, the
hankens can be drastically better quality.
Another thing to note is that just because
something is repro does not assure it's high
quality or aesthetic pleasure....take the FY
repros. Butt ugly (they chose the WORST, most
simplistic shots), and from what I've heard not
that well made. I've even heard of paint chipping
from them pretty easily.

Also, people try very hard to get hankens
now...in fact, I think the supply of hankens will
run out long before the supply of production
cels. So, no, I doubt in 15 years we'll all be
collecting hankens and repros...we'll be
collecting D-rate cels and, to those who choose,
repros. Me, I'm not a repro person, I collect
cels for their production value. If someone's in
is just for the pretty pictures, WHY are they
collecting cels? That's just STUPID..you're
wasting your money. You could EASILY buy posters,
prints, and stickers, or the million other
cheaper items with MUCH prettier pictures on
them...which were, incidentally, printed from
hankens.

P.S. - This is not menat to be hostile...reading
it through, I realized it sounded as such, and
it's not...I'm just trying to say that hankens
and repros are -totally- different.
