I'd visit a gallery that had just one nice cel.
That's what it's there for, right? :-)
I'm not sure what your purpose is. If you want
regular traffic to your site, then a small start
with frequent updates will do more for you than a
huge initial gallery with infrequent updates.
What will probably affect visitors more is load
times and how easy it is to navigate your site.
