I have a couple of thoughts (well, more than a
couple...:-):
First: collecting is supposed to be a part of your
life, an enhancement to it - it's not supposed to
take over your life. If there are other things you
want to do with your time and your money, it's ok,
it's YOUR time and YOUR money.
Second, remember the mantra: there will always be
another cel. And there will. So if you want to take
a break from the continual hunt, take the break.
It'll still be there if you want to come back.
Third, you don't have to sacrifice today for the
future. Yes, you have to plan for the future, but
you live in the here and now. It's all about
balance. Your post leads me to think that you might
want to think about rebalancing to a mix that you
will enjoy more.
Fourth, although it may sound like I'm encouraging
you to get out of collecting, I'm not. What I hope
I'm encouraging is figuring out a way to make
cel collecting fit with the changes you sound like
you want to make in your life.
Fifth, yeah, it may be just a slump. I think all
collectors go through times when they've just had
it with the whole business - when I have that, I
usually just sit back, go do something else, and
let it run its course. Then again, I collect a
number of things, so if one area of collecting is
being a pain in the derriere, I have others to go
enjoy :-). But in any case, you lose nothing by
waiting to see if it is a slump, or you really are
yearning to go do something else.
The bottom line for me is that I really, truly
enjoy the cels I have - but I really, truly enjoy
them more when they're not an obsession and not
getting in the way of other things I also enjoy.
