Hmm...I was curious (I use your-site.com as my
host), so I decided to play around with some
files.  Thanks to Karen for her excellent tutorial
below ^_^.  I...think it worked *points to the
link above*.  username turkey, password cheese. 
One of these days I'll get around to making a
custom 404 error page.
