Yeah...the plot "left a little lacking" is an
understatement...they killed everyone off so that
there would be no loose ends ("The audience can;t
follow it? Fine, just kill everyone, they'll like
that."). On it's own, it is a gorgeous
movie...but the manga is definitely much better.
Even if it's taking forever...*x* The characters
are much more developed, and you feel a bit more
sorry for Kamui (his character intrigues me, in
the manga), but at the same itme Kamui isn't half
as whiny ;p You can understand him better, and
his whole conflict with Fuuma (which, in the
manga, is turned into a nice twisted kind of
romance ^^;;), and Kotori is not a bubblehead. I
hated her movie design.
But the blood is pretty. Of course, I have an
obsession with blood in anime. I once drew the
Great Gatsby as a comic, and the scene where's he
shot there's a frame of the bullet going through
his head, blood spurting out one side, as his
pupils dilate ^_^ Pretty...
