unless it becomes an addiction (which isn't even
funny to joke about in the least).
Speaking from experience I too use to search day
and night constantly being glued the computer for
potential cel updates; but I found that just
wasn't productive nor healthy in the least. As
somepeople have mentioned one should consider
when they feel overwhelmed by this "hobby" dare I
say compulsion that are they collecting it for
the appreciation of the art/possibly emotional
significance i.e. memories or it is merely for
the hunt to obtain something and beating another
collector to it? For those of you who claim you
don't feel this way, you're not being honest
w/yourself. There has had to have at least once
when all of us have seen some cel we wanted and
practically stalked the seller or dealer online,
waiting for it to be posted, and frantically
emailed only to find in disappointment that it
was reserve shortly before you. Or we've seen
other people's enormous collections which seems
to be growing larger than our nations debt and we
wonder why the f#@k does this person collect
everything under the sun and wouldn't it be nicer
that they didn't, as it would give others a fair
shot. Hey, its natural to think and feel that
way, some people live in excessive you know who
you are people. Just like Mr. Burns in the
Simpsons, you always want more and more, never
content with what you got. Something most
collectors would be more than happy and content
with.
But alas, in life there will always been someone
whose got the monies to pay for these eccentric
luxery items. For myself its a small comfort to
know that I for one made the right decision for
myself to slowdown collecting cels b/c there are
quite frankly much more important
things/experiences/people in life than a piece of
acetate and paint.
