(Not that I even know what a mulberry bush looks
like. . . ^_~;;)
I've ordered a good number of times from Mangaya
and every time I order, it reinforces what I have
always said about them. In a nutshell this is:
1. Regarding e-mail, they will always answer
faster around an update. In between, it can take
up to two weeks or more to get a reply - and that
is IF you ever get one.
2. I have *never* *NOT* gotten my cels, but I
have never gotten them any sooner than about four
or five weeks after I order. The longest I have
had to wait is five months, the average wait is
about two months.
3. The site is pretty accurate about what you get
when you're ordering. If it says it comes with
background, douga, genga, layouts, timesheets,
etc, etc, etc, then it does. However there is
usually no mention of if a sketch is *partial*
(for example: only the character's eyes).
4. Regarding condition, go with what you see, but
know it is Mangaya's policy to not leave the cel
sticking to anything. This even means ripping it
free from backgrounds or sketches to which it
might be stuck. Of the two backgrounded cels I
have gotten at Mangaya, one cel was unstuck. The
other had been stuck and the background was
damaged when it was ripped away. This damage was
not visible in the scan and not mentioned on the
site.
My advice when ordering from Mangaya: Put in your
order and forget about it. When you get the
confirmation e-mail from them, send payment and
forget about it again. Eventually the cel will
find it's way to your door, but don't hold your
breath. Like I said, I have never not gotten what
I ordered - but with the slow to non-existant
responses, every time I order, I pray: "don't let
this be the time something goes wrong."
In that vein, I also make sure every time to have
them ship via EMS. If nothing else, at least then
you're covered in *that* department!!
Actually, I'm thinking of putting in another
order soon. . . (*Drac prays. . .* ^_^;;)
