Hi, again.  Yeah, I remember "Sweet Sea" too =).
I think I even saw some cels from that on eBay
recently too ;).

However, Disney had been planning on doing the
Little Mermaid based on Hans Christian Anderson's
story before WWII broke out -_-.  There are even
preliminary sketches for character designs of the
Little Mermaid that never went into production
because of the war.  The sketches were brought
out though as reference when Disney decided to
finally bring the idea back into production =} in
the 1980s (the Roy Disney/Michael Eisner/Jeffrey
Katzenburg revolution).

the preliminary sketches for the Little Mermaid
done in the late 1930s or 1940s in one of the
many Disney artbooks out on the shelf which covers
the Little Mermaid =}.
