Oh, I've said it enough to be the one who probably
said it last. ^_^ The price will cap out at the
maximum price that people are willing to pay. If
you keep inching your price up, so will the
dealers and the people that the dealers get their
cels from, etc, etc. If you back off and refuse
to pay for something that you think isn't worth
it, the prices will come down.
Problem is, we need to do that as a group. It
doesn't make a difference if ten or twenty people
do that - we *all* have to be willing to step
back and look at this through more critical eyes.
Because I think it is overpriced, I am right at
this *very moment* NOT buying a cel that I want
very badly. And I'm happy to see it still sitting
there since it gives me some hope that others
realize it is overpriced too!
On the other hand, you have an excellent point
about the pricing models! That's an angle of the
whole "dealers are overpricing" argument that
gets overlooked. When you sell more items, you
can afford to sell them for less. . . When you
sell the items at a higher price, you can afford
to sell fewer of them. Overall, two different
stores, one that follows the first pricing model
and one that follows the second pricing model,
will probably make the same percentage profit. It
really depends only on the attitude of the owner
of the store, which model they choose to follow.
