No, I do not believe regular customers get any 
more advance notifications from dealers than 
other buyers. As Sonia said, it harms the 
dealer's reputation and thus, is not good for 
business.

The form of advance notice that you might be 
thinking of is an email from the dealer to their 
mailing list notifying the recipients of an 
update. It's up to you to add yourself to this ML 
so that you know when an update has occurred.
