now I've only seen the first DVD of 2040, but so 
far I like it a lot more than the OVA's (although 
I still do like the OVA's) 

Fer me I like the darkness of the TV series, in 
both the animation and the spirit of the show. 
That and from what I've seen so far I think it's 
a little more intelligent than the OVA's. It's 
far more Sci-Fi, where the OVA's seemed more like 
a soap opera set in the future, but like I said 
before this is all my opinion.
