I've always felt that not allowing people to bid or not buying
from people just on the basis of low feedback or a small
percentage of negatives was silly because so many people leave
feedback based motivated by things other than the success of the
transaction. However, it still is a risk and you have
to make a decision yourself.
Perhaps the seller did not know how to answer your other
questions, only the ones that s/he had ready because s/he had
been asked them before. Do you know how good his/her English is?
Of course, whether you want to go with the hassle of dealing
with someone overseas is a completely different issue.
You can do some more research as well. Find out the feedback
of the eBay people who gave him negatives. Often I've found
a person was probably not at fault based on both sides of the
story, especially when the negative was left by someone many
people have had trouble with. As for the neutrals, eBay makes
both positives and negatives into neutrals if the person who
left them is no longer an eBay user. If you are still interested
in the item but worried, perhaps you should take some time
to sift through all the pages of feedback (a lot for 785!)
and see if you can justify the negatives and neutrals.
Hopes this helps
