If the person's a troll, they're not doing a very good job.

If they're serious, they really need to get outta the house
more often, or perhaps take note of the many fine charitable
causes that are devoted to solving _real_ problems.  

Troll or serious, the response is the same: oh get over 
yourself and get lost.  Anime's not your special little scene
to "save" and keep to yourself.  I really, really doubt that
the fine folks who produce anime (and those who bring it over
stateside) are losing sleep that "the wrong element" are 
helping pay to put food on the table and ink on the cels.
