I think Drac stated everything perfectly.

Here was my personal solution:  I do not seek the
attention of having people ooohh and aaahh at my
cels (if you like them).  I know what I have and
that's enough for me.  But I did want to be able 
show my cels to my friends.  So I do have a 
gallery, but I am not on the cel web ring, nor 
have I ever posted the link.  Thus the URL is
unknown and basically impossible to find.

The only people who have access are those that I
gave the URL to (and those they gave it to, 
although I am hoping they haven't done that) for 
their viewing pleasure.

The pros of this approach are two:

1. No annoying "will you sell me this..." emails.
2. Not letting on to the whole world that there is
one more person willing to shell out money for
the shows I like (might keep prices down a tad).

The cons are also two:

1. Some people might get a cel I like and not
offer it to me since they don't know I would like
it or don't even know I exist.
2. No bragging rights (if you care about this).

So there's my take on it.
