>>Odd scenario. Unless Penn and Teller teamed up with those things from Critters.<< Sorry, I didn't catch that reference ^_^; >>If you haven't already, contact your seller. Perhaps something could be resolved properly. << Yes, I did that before posting here. There isn't really much can be done. The truth about cel collecting is that it is full of risk, and none of us are really protected at all, since insurance doesn't even mean too much. This is a hobby where the buyer is more or less assuming all risk. If a cel is shipped damaged, would you really want to turn it over to the postal department, where it will likely wind up being thrown away? Also, I have to trust that the seller shipped the cel undamaged, since this is a very reputable person many of you have delt with before. All this person has is my word that I received a cel damaged on delivery. Words often don't mean much, and there really isn't much that can be done, anyway. A cel is not something that can be readily replaced when damaged, which is what makes them so worthwhile to collect. Am I disapointed? Yes. Am I upset? Yes. Do I feel as if I wasted my money? To a point, yes. However, I bought this cel after months of wanting it, and I don't really want to give it up, even though it's damaged. I already spent quite a bit of money on it, and although I'm a bit reluctant to spend even more to hopefully fix it, I probably will, just because it saddens me greatly to see it damaged. The two weeks shipping was not kind to this cel, and I feel that the somewhat loose packaging was probably a primary cause to the paint loss. However, based on reputation, I'm guessing that this was a rare occurance. It doesn't make me feel a whole lot better, but getting overly upset isn't going to accomplish much, either. Yikes, I really didn't mean to ramble so ^_^; Back to studying lisp =/ -Karen |
