Re: Making backgrounds (Fri Apr 14 08:36:24 2000

I myself have just started experimenting with this,(in fact the question I posed earlier today about sketches was so that I could display a cel with a fake background) but I'm afraid I'm going about it the old-fashioned way, buying thick, high quality paper from the art store and using an airbrush to try to create a similar image. (I highly advise airbrushes to anyone doing BG work, they're extremely useful since a lot of backgrounds have airbrush work on them) Since I dont know what the BG looked like for that cel, I really cant say how easy it might be for you to try and re-create it. I've never heard of re-creating the BG from a screen cap, though I suppose with the right photo editor and a very high quality cap it could be done (I'd think that right there would be the biggest obstacle, finding one that's large enough not to look distorted when you print it out). Anyway, I'm eager to see what suggesions people have about the screencapping part of it, and if anyone has any tips for those of us hand-painting, well that'd be appreciated too. *takes a pause* wow, I've been posting a lot lately... |
