reserve prices (Mon Mar 1 09:49:25 1999

sometimes low bids are set so that interested buyers will begin bidding. Even if the reserve price (the price someone would LIKE to sell for) is not met, the seller can still contact the bidders and ask them if they would be willing to buy at the reserve price, or sometimes even less. The point is, auctions with low min.bids & reserve prices help sellers find people who are interested in buying the item. It does not necessarily mean they will not sell for less. I have put auctions up with reserves and then told the high bidder that I am still willing to sell for what they bid at, even though they did not meet the reserve by a long shot. A reserve means we are not OBLIGATED to sell if it is not met. Thats all. -Ash |
