Geocities' pop-ups are INCREDIBLY annoying, but it does have a plus size. They offer A LOT (I think it's 11 megs) of space. For $4.95 a month, you can eliminate the pop-ups and have 25 megs of space. I did that for my Kaori shrine, but for a simple cel gallery, it may be too much. You do get all kind of cgi stuff and lots of interesting 'extra's,' though. As far as a small graphic to tell people that a cel is not for sale or trade, those are very easy to make, as long as you don't care if they're extremely nice. (laughs) I made the 2 little thingies at the bottom of this message in about a minute. Angelfire is a nice, reliable place to have a website, but they give you less space than Geocities and elsewhere. Also, with Angelfire you can only upload one pic at a time, whereas you can upload 20 pics at a time at Geocities (if you're using FTP, don't worry about it). Geocities can also sometimes be unstable and run slowly. Both Geocities and Angelfire have graphics pages of things to put on your website. I use a little pink thumb-tack picture by my favorite cels as a subtle (probably too subtle) way of saying that I'm not parting with them. You can get all kinds of things, and it may just be easier to pick a cute graphic (there are animated ones, too) and use it. Angelfire's and Geocities' pages of graphics are here: Angelfire Graphics Geocities Graphics Maybe this will help you get an idea of who to go with? xane |
