They have a speciality in France : strike !
If the postoffice isn't on strike, it's the airplane
company. Or the train. Or...

Don't expect to get anything fast near Christmas or
new year : there is always strike then...

As for shipping, well, I dunno exactly how it
is in France but here in Switzerland there is 3
ways to send something to another country :
"Economic airmail", "priority airmail" and "EMS".
That's roughtly the same as "SAL", "Airmail"
and "EMS" in Japan. (3 weeks, 1 weeks, a few days).
But EMS is at least 2 or 3 times more expensive
than in Japan so...

Also it's possible to ask for "express" but that's
totaly pointless : it's like airmail except that
it should be distributed the same day as it arrives
at the other postoffice. But else, it's the same
time.
