I have a background used in as many as 11 cut 
sequences which I believed involved over 200 A and 
B layer cels and actually a few C and D layers.
Just FYI.

Akira was done with traditional backgrounds. They 
are just exceedingly rare. The CG technique for 
making backgrounds was not available 15 years ago 
when akira was made.
