Well, the Student Centre's closing soon, so I'm
not sure how much time I've got before they kick
me off the computer, but I'll give it my shot. ^-
^;;
If I still have time after this sure-to-be-long
post, I've got an email I need to send you, Drac,
which I really hope won't put you in any worse a
mood, but I fear may. I'm feeling like quite a
louse already, though..
But first, for the happy..
It all started a long time ago, in a galaxy not
so terribly far away; I was bored and piddling
around on the internet, and ended up at
AnimeChaos as I so often do (three cheers for
Nick!) and decided that since I'd long looked
through all the pages for the series with which I
was familiar, I might as well search through the
listings for series I knew nothing about. One
such was 'Violinist of Hamelin' which I admit I
didn't think sounded all that great by name
alone. (So foolish I was, back then.) I was
glancing through the listings, and was rather
impressed with the art style already when I saw a
picture of an odd dog-creature in armour. Now,
I've always loved dogs, and I've long been a
sucker for a man in armour...so it seemed rather
perfect. ^_^;; One of the cels was already sold,
but there were a few that weren't. One of them
really struck me, so the next time I put an order
in, I decided to tack it on.
Time went on, and I got more cels of the
character.. It wasn't long before I decided to
research the series and the character. Not long
after that, I got my hands on the anime, and then
started in on the manga, which quickly became my
favourite manga series. And as for that good ol'
doggie.. Guitar became my favourite character,
from any genre of fiction, EVER.
He's rather a conglomeration of all the traits
I've always liked in a character, all mashed into
one. I couldn't have created something I liked
more if I sat down and tried. ^_^;; Armour,
sword-use, canine appearance, evil, a dead sexy
voice (Thanks to Guitar, I've fallen entirely in
love with Matsuyama Takashi, and have made an
effort to seek out other series in which he's
done voice roles -- and am working up a humble
collection of cels of his various characters) and
just the most perfect attitude.. The right
mixture of evil, intelligence, and good manners.
I've long tended to prefer the background
villain, the one who works in the shadows to set
himself up in the perfect position, and then
finally springs forth to put everything into
action. I don't know, he's just perfect. ^-^;;
The cel's also nearly perfect; a book cel, due to
it's cel-background as far as I can tell, and
just as lovely as can be.. Such a perfect
portrait, and the art's looking very nice.
Guitar, unfortunately, tends to look a bit odd at
times; it seems some of the animators weren't
used to drawing canids. ^-^;;
And so, since I've rambled long enough, my
favourite cel in my gallery..
