Well, I dont think this is a good idea for many
reasons. When I was in college no one gave me
discounts on anything except the movie theater.
I had to stop cel collecting when I was in
school. First off I was too busy to buy cels,
not to mention I didnt have the cash to afford
the stuff I wanted. Secondly, students arent the
only ones who arent raking it in. I know a few
cel collectors who have children and families,
not to mention house payments, med bills, dogs
cats, you name it. Those guys dont have a lot to
spend but they dont get discounts either.
There's also a lot of people who are out of work
right now, or who have suffered pay cuts due to
the rotting economy. No discounts there. I
think it's wise that if you're a student, to not
get too involved in cels til you're out of school
and make enough money, and have enough time.
Now, Im not ordering anyone around by any means.
Im speaking from my own experiences. Back in
school I went very broke due to cels, and I had
to stop. It got to the point where I couldnt
eat! ~_~
Plus...why should the dealers take a loss when
there's people who do have the money that will
buy the cels? It's not really fair for them. I
remember back in school, when I got my first
Nuriko cel. It cost me 280$ or so, and for me
that was a FAT amount of cash, cause at the time
I had very limited income. I had a choice, to
either scrape the money together, or there was
another buyer on hand who had the money right
there. The guy didnt want to take a loss, and I
can understand that. If I was a seller Id feel
the same way. Just an opinion, this is no way
shape or form meant to demean students! You guys
work hard, and I know just what it's like to live
on ramen and no cels...Im doing it now in fact,
cause Im one of the poor folks suffering a paycut
(love the economy right now). Its tough, but
during college it's best to concentrate on
studies and work. That way you can get out and
get a good job, then you can sit back in your big
new office and buy buttloads of cool art ^_^. |
